Are you a woman considering running in a JCR election this term, or sometime in the future?
Are you a woman concerned about the lack of women in student politics in Oxford? (Only 1 out of 5 JCR presidents are women)
If you answer ‘yes’ to one of the above questions, please come along to our event on Saturday from 5pm at St Hilda’s (Vernon Harcourt Room) -
it’s going to be an informal Q&A between women who are, were or want to be involved in student politics in Oxford.
Coming to offer words of encouragement, support and advice are:
- Anne-Marie Canning, ex-President of York SU
- Liv Bailey, St Hilda’s JCR President 06-07, now NUS Women’s Officer
- Rachel Cummings, current OUSU VP (Women)
- Portia Roelofs, current OUSU Part-time Women’s Officer
So come along, whether you think you might run for President, VP, an officer or a rep, or if you’ve already been involved in student politics and want to pass on the seeds of your wisdom! The event is free and refreshments will be served.
(Please note this event is open to women only.)
