QUEER STUDIES: MOVIE NIGHT!
My Own Private Idaho/Bound/Pink Narcissus
Next Saturday, March 7th (Wk 7)
7:30 PM to 11:00 PM
Pembroke College, MCR
(ask porter for directions)
It’s 7th week, we’re all exhausted, stressed, tired, slowly wasting away by our computers… and to assuage this exhaustion, Queer Studies is having a relaxing movie night. We will be watching some excellent, but rare and less well-known, queer-themed films, starting with “My Own Private Idaho,” starring Keanu Reeves and River Phoenix and directed by Gus Van Sant (who brought us ‘Milk’ this year). Then we’ll move on to “Bound,” a “lesbian action thriller” from the directing team that spawned “The Matrix.” Finally, we will end with James Bidgood’s “Pink Narcissus.” Hope you’ll join us - feel free to come at any time in the night - we’ll be starting the first film at 7:30, the second at 9:00 and the last at 10:30.
There will be popcorn, crisps, and drinks aplenty, also the charmingly cheap MCR bar will be open! And if the group’s up for it, we might even order pizza! Hope to see you there!
