An event for all women, to rediscover their inner inspiration and aspirations. Ever wanted to change the world but felt under-prepared or inadequate? Ever wanted to change your life but weren’t sure where to start? Then this day is for you – led by Ruskin tutors and students it will amuse challenge and invigorate in equal measure. The day event will be followed by an open day for Ruskin’s courses (from Short Courses to MAs) from 4-6 pm with information available, drop-in to chat with a tutor.

Come and welcome Sofia Sanchez Sirias and Milagros Mairena Delgado, two women visitors from Leon, Nicaragua’s University town twinned with Oxford. Sofia is a member of Viva Leon – a women’s cooperative founded to keep the tradition of making Gigantonas alive (giant Carnival puppets). They will talk about their project aimed at raising funds to defend women from violence and provide a safe environment in their City of Leon. The Oxford Gigantona will be paraded at this Brookes Love and Justice Festival event

Come along to meet and view films from leading Oxfordshire women filmmakers. We will be screening animation, documentary, campaigning and community films and will discuss how women get started in filmmaking.
