Fewer women apply to, enroll in, and complete post-graduate education than men. There is also a decrease in women continuing from the master’s level to the doctoral level. Perhaps the
prospect of continuing their studies intimidates young women, or they do not know how to find the proper courses and funding, or they do not want to leave their partners, or they are under pressure from their families to get a job immediately, or…
With this in mind, the St Antony’s Women’s Committee and the St Hilda’s Women’s Officer along with the OUSU VP Women invite all women – undergraduate and postgraduate – to come to a drop-by session on Thursday March 5th (Week 7) in St. Hilda’s JCR / Hall anytime from 5pm – 8pm to discuss prospects for postgraduate education.
Women in postgraduate studies are invited to share how they chose their disciplines, what tips they wish they’d known before, how they moved abroad, and any advice that was passed on to them.
Undergraduate women are invited to discuss their ideas for future careers, study plans, travel wishes, and any other ambitions for which they might appreciate some friendly advice.
Come along, invite your friends, partake in the free wine and food, and learn about the wonderful world of postgraduate studies! No need to RSVP, just come by and stay for as long as you wish!
