Always the first thing to say is a big thank you to everyone who worked so hard on this to make it happen.

Last summer, on the eve of my departure after four years in Oxford, I made three amazing discoveries:

  • an outdoor public swimming pool in a massive park less than 200 metres from my house. I’d never even realised there was a park there.
  • I followed the trail of a flier I’d picked up somewhere, and I found myself at a fantastic all-women performers live music gig (including Lisa Fitzgibbon) Maeve has been organising ‘Maeve’s Rave for a long time now, I’d just never come across it.
  • at the gig I met some really cool people and we talked about common interests and concerns: funding for the Rape Crisis Centre, plans for Ladyfest &c.

It was great. Just a bit late.

We’re hoping that Agendered will help you find PLACES, EVENTS and PEOPLE in Oxford. There’s so much going on and so many projects to get involved with. Organise your agenda and help fill the calendar!

Sexuality: our first topic. Up next term: Masculinity. What do you think about gender?

Welcome! We’re looking for new writers, editors and readers. Do get in touch if you’re interested… and join us on Facebook !

P.S. The park with the pool is Hinksey Park.
